I've been using Windows 7 for the past few months at work. I like it a lot, much better than Vista. They fixed a lot of the security head aches that Vista introduced like the naming of folders. I used to have to restart my computer because some back-end process had a hold on a folder.

xp is still good. it could have come with vista.

honestly theres alot of vista haters, but i feel its gotten the rep it deserves. i would rate it a C- compared to a B or B+ of xp. it wasnt horrible, but now people are used to higher quality operating system, even the main linux OSes are of superb quality now.

it was the little things that brought vista down.
poor backwards compatibility.
it was a resource hog.
i cant believe the UAC actually got left in vista, anybody that actually used the system on a regular basis would have instantly found it aggrevating. theyed turn it off which defeats the purpose, i think it could still use tweaking in W7 but it has some settings now.

The upgrade is definitely worth it, I thought vista was good but you have to have a powerful machine to run it properly, but windows 7 blows the doors of even moderately powerd machines
