I used to get irritated at school, but never called it slavery. You really need to wake up and stop being such a brat.

I agree with the above poster, and I'm a high school student (grade 9) and I have to say, two weeks is great. The adults I know get one and are ecstatic. It is far from slavery, if you really don't like school, you can find some way out of it. Although I would recommend that. School really isn't too difficult, but it's only going to get worse so I suggest you learn how to cope with longer hours, waking up earlier and doing more difficult work promptly. We as students aren't really entitled to anything despite our thinking of so, we're the ones being done a favour, I have a clean, safe environment to get a free (well there ARE taxes), very useful education. I'm not complaining.

get used to it. life is like that. I work five days a week, go to college and my only day off is spent watching my daughter. I had to use my vacation week to stay home with my daughter because she is sick. The older you get, the more responsibility you have and the less the world revolves around you. Life is always going to be equally unfair

Maybe you should look at this differently. Think of this "slavery" as conditioning for later on in life. I went to private schools learning 3 languages in every subject. I had after school tutoring and work since I was 16. I hated it. I despised my parents for putting me through it. Fast forward to just a mere 10 years ago when I bought my company from my father, the slave driver. I now work for myself, set industry trends, take off time when I want, and rake in the cash being the best in the business all thanks to the hard work I was "forced" to do. Look farther than the bakery position. Think bigger than tomorrow.

can i come work for you. i wont call it slavery!

 Aren't we all painting a pretty picture for him!

Ok, I work hard too, also have graduated from college once, and am in the midst of going back, getting married, buying a house, all kinds of "hard" stuff, but I'm having fun. It certainly is not easy, but it doesn't have to suck. I loved high school and I wish I could go back too (I'm reminded everyday because I work across the street!:nilly:) but that doesn't mean that now that I'm out of school my life sucks. It's all about your perspective, and you can have a good one now, if you choose. I believe everyday is a gift, and I try to be grateful for it.

Good point. I've been out of school for a while now, and I don't hate waking up in the morning. Do what you can with school so you can do what you enjoy when you're out. It doesn't have to suck. Very true.
