what are some good fishing spots in southern california? i usually go to the pier or lakes but cant find any other spots.

Santa Monica Pier or New Port Pier always seem to be on fire when I go visit So Cal.

it depends if you wanna go deep sea or pier fishing...i like fishing rocky point over in PV u can catch some pretty nice calicos or a white sea bass on a good day

just fish the surf. You can catch barred surf perch, yellow fin croakers, corbina..... on light tackle 8# test and then shovelnose guitar fish, halibut, bat rays and leopard sharks on heavier gear 20#. All these fish come close to shore in knee to waist deep water.

orange county area, can you tell me some great spots i love fishing but i hate standing on the pier.
