I can go through 3lbs in a week if I feed heavy. But every once in a while you need to spurge on your fish.
My whole house is on a filter system so there's no need to age the water for the worms. One very important piece of advice I can give anyone is not to put them in to small of a container, don't let the worms get thicker than maybe 3/4", they won't have access to enough O2 clean water and will perish faster.
