over heating on my tanks. cooling down now but one was at almost 89...super hot!! anyone having probs with these? the good super hungry tho..

what did you end up doing? i was thinking of putting some ice water on my tank..lol.. when my temp was up at 87 86...i noticed my heater was still on!! lol had to unplug it..

Point a fan towards the tank. Should help promote evaporation which should cool the tank.

I feel bad for you Cali-kids... us Central Floridians have not seen temps over 88F yet this summer. Loving it. If thats what global warming means, bring it on! I went surfing all day btw... constant 7footers = love!

Yeah, just point a fan at the top of the water. Warm water = Less oxygen, a fan pointed at the top of the water = surface agitation = More oxygen.

So, it may help a little in more ways than one.

My tank reached 95F on Th and no issues. I just make sure the powerjet are running at full blast with tons of bubbles. I did a water change and it drop the temp to 85F and today the water is back to 90F.

My GF's little 5 gallon betta tank got to 95F today. She came home to a dead betta and 2 Otto's dead.

Is yout tank in your garage?????
Nope inside the house. Yes, it does get that hot inside the house. Plus acrylic traps all the heat.
