A pet store near me has a sale every couple of months: 100$ for a 75, 150$ for a 90, 200$ for a 125, etc. I'm sure you can find great deals if you get involved in the local fish community. I'd have never known about that store if I wasn't a member of local forums.

Eh, 55 would be good enough for me. I'm sure an Elephant Nose would be fine in a 55.

yep an elephant nose would be perfectly fine in a 55. Two if you have good filtration.

I thought the Elephant nose had to either be kept alone or in a group of six or more, can two get along well? I heard they always try to kill each other if there's just two or three.

Elephant noses don't seem aggressive and we are talking about Gnathonemus petersii correct. As long as they have their respective hiding spots, they should be fine. I see three elephant noses in a lfs, and they are in perfect condition.
