So frustrated ! :( please help with eheim

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Jebo is garbage. I have had 4 in the past, they all leaked or shattered in the mail. They all went into the dumpster, I didn't even want to give them away to fellow hobbiest they were such junk.
imho

I would contact Eheim and get them to send you some new connections, shouldn't they do that?

Sorry for your bad luck.
Good luck.

Tcarswell, you're funny with the ranting. I feel your frustration with the leak. I went through a lot to learn about canister setups. I have never experience with Eheim brand tap valve since I use Marineland tap value. If these tap valve are similiar to Marineland valve then you definitely do not want to over tighten.

How old are the valves? The rubber on the o-ring harden and do not seal if this is old.

I still like my Eheim Pro II filters and Rena XP3. I can get Jebo for 1/4 of that price but I choose not to buy it for a reason.
Thanks bud! I could have overtightened I took it apart and put it back together and While I cross my fingers I can say it has subsided . My new and FREE tap valve from eheim will be here shortly. Lets see Jebo hand out products with just a phone call to the company. Thanks avain fishgonewild

Where is the leak from? Is it from where the two valves connects or from the hose attached to the valve nipple? If it is leaking from where the hose connecting to the nipple then I would upgrade to metal clamps from HomeDepot for a better seal. Below is the valve I used in my setup.

Awesome input I am gonna do that when the new tap valve gets here and its apart again. The leak is actually from in between where the double taps seperate Its not on either hose connection . Hard to explain I guess you know what I mean?

sorry klonipin its from where the two valves connect

If it's coming from where the two valve connects then it's most likely the o-ring not sealing correctly. There is really nothing sealing there other than just an o-ring. It's either a faulty o-ring or faulty valve housing.

Make sure you lube the o-ring when you get your new valves. Lube it up before you insert it to make two become one. The lube actually help the o-ring seal better.

I see... That makes me want to give it a try right now if it is as simple as an O ring. My problem was I didn't pay too much attention when I set it up. :screwy: Thanks for your input greatly FGW ill do that tonight. let you know how it goes.

well you may not agree with or believe what im saying but i stand by that my jebo is far better than my 2215. thats why ive went back to it after running the 2215 as it was the supposed superior filter. i can only tell my experience with my 2215 and im very unimpressed with it.

Right right but personally id rather have a tried and trusted corvette than a Kia that happens to work during a minor problem with the corvette:)
