So here is my first ever DIY stand!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
:cool-1: nice
agree no fabric, hinges are fairly cheap, might even get some nice hidden ones from a cabinet someone threw out?

Mondays the day! Have some friends coming over for the tank switch....everything is in place.....hope my big driftwood arrives from Manzman in time! Only challange is going to be leveling the stand. Good thing it is overbuilt because i will have to raise one side 3/4 of an inch to level it. I have some cut and primed 3/4 ply for the end and lots of shims to hammer in under the stand. My 52 has been running three years in the spot without being level with no issues. The 150 tall is another matter. Gotta let it near perfect!

Last post on this thread! Monday is tank switch day. My driftwood will not arrive till teudsday earliest....I will post before and after driftwood shots. It would have been easier to place the wood without water and equiptment but oh well......cannot wait to wrap this project up.....Tank will be a little dim until I can muster up some funds for more LED lights....I will have " adequate" filtration to begin....xp3 and a bio350....both fully seasoned.....I plan on using the large 140 qt cooler to store my existing plants, wood and filtration pcs while the switch takes place. The fish will be in the smaller cooler and three buckets in a 81 degree bathroom with air pumps. i will have all 50 gallons of water to begin the refill....my python will do the rest. I will reuse my sand and I have 55 more lbs rinsed and ready......12 parts white pool filter, one part black Cichlid sand. My new Ehiem jager heater is ready.....The house is 3/4 on an inch off every 48" in this room.....I will jack up one end of my stand with primed plywood and shim it tight! Wish me luck! Next post....new thread!
