Im getting my girlfriend a new tank for christmas so if he has not been sucked up yet then thats where he is going.... Its so funny cause the cory swims around the tank with the redtail... little does he know that one day he might possibly be dinner... till then they are best of friends....

sounds like marriage

i feel bad for it already though. What the heck happened to the rest of the cories?

Its following the RTC due to lack of other fish, its doing what its born to do... school... i have several cats/cories that does this all of the time under the bigger plecos bellies. Its not the buddies thing its just the security thing-

I have another surprising combination for you. Back a couple years ago when I bought my first tank, the first fish i bought was a rainbow shark. A couple months later I bought a baby rtc. Now 16inches and a tank later, they are still both living in the same tank.

I love the complacent attitude that a non-feeder animal that you're keeping is going to be eaten, like it's soon to be death is comical.

As if that's not what actual responsible and intelligent fishkeepers do, make sure their pets don't eat one another.

Not a massive issue and certainly no criminal travesty, not my reason for posting. Just all too common fish keeping stupidity. :shakehead

^^hey man it happens. Some times its just not worth the trouble to set up a new tank. Today I got my brachyplatystoma rousseauxii (golden catfish) and my 3 stupid grass cutter cats were bothering it. So wat did I do. caught em and put them in the big pond with fish at least 4x bigger than them. Oh well. Im not crying

Still in there btw the big cats are to lazy to chase their food. lol

Bit different if you don't have a choice because of aggression.

A redtail cat + cory combination just reeks of a lack of common sense. :screwy:

true true. who knows it may work out. The channel in my avatar kept one white feeder goldfish as a friend for a few years. 2" goldfish with 16" channel shouldnt have worked but it did. That gold fish stayed through a few dif batchs of feeders and even lasted me switching the cat to frozen. In the end 10" goldfish 30" channel. friends till the day my poor cat died :(

Wasn't even trying to be a jerk about it. Maybe I have a too high standard of responsibility when it comes to fish keeping. It just doesn't seem right to basically condemn a former pet to death because the new, bigger and better thing came along and now the old pet is an inconvenience.
