So, how long would it last?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
RTC's should not be kept except by people with really monstous tans/ponds.
They get huge, eat everything and its brother and 90% of the owners get tirrd of them and then there's another lost RTC.

I see people keeping them in much smaller tanks. I know it would be a lot happier in my pond than stunted in someone's 55 gallon overstocked tank. Not trying to completely blow your opinion away, and who knows! Maybe ill get a bigger tank once it needs it :D

Thanks for the help, by the way, mqktandy :D Im looking that stuff up now.

If you build a pond out doors i hope you are in a very well paid job!!! but if that is you in your avitar well you just look like another school kid that will end up wih a dead RTC!!!! i havd a out door pond for 6 months and it was costing about $10 a day to heat it was well instlated and even had a cover over it to try and keep the heat in but as soon as the outside temp drops below 14c you are in trouble and even if you have a in door pond for winter all the bacteria in the filter for the out door pond will die off and once spring comes around and the fish can go back out doors you will have nothing but trouble. You need to have a very large tank or an indoor pond it can live in for life if you cant do that for it TAKE IT BACK NOW!!!! befor you kill it dure to poor water quality and cramped conditions:(

Thanks for judging, mate!
