 good luck.

I would stop feeding live immediately and get it eating pellets. Once you get them onto pellets you can then get them to eat most anything. Most any non aggressive fish would do fine for tankmates(size appropriate). I would stay away from cichlids until the aro gets bigger. Once it is in the 10-11" range you can introduce some cichlids, keep them to half the aro's length.

Thanks bderick! I'm looking around for a male motoro. It should be ok to add some peaceful bottom dwellers such as this correct? I believe it ate some krill. I broke up some pieces and there were 2 left out of the 4 I put in. Should I give the aro a constant supply of food or should he be rationed?

I would feed only twice daily and at the same time and same spot in the tank for each feeding. Your aro will quickly learn when and where the food is coming from. remove any uneaten food after 10 minutes or so. If you leave food to be eaten whenever the aro feels like it, it will take longer to get it eating pellets.

What about a schooling fish in the tank? I've seen some tanks like it. Would it work? I've never had any dithers.

What do you mean? Tetras, danios, silver dollars?
