Bloodthirsty-Just got a 3in chocolate!!! Any words of wisdom on these? He`s in a 90g with a gold sev, flagtail proch., blue dempsey and some dither. He seems so graceful floating around the tank...not a care in the world:) Thanks~

Sounds like you have the perfect home for him. Mine is an eating machine and pretty easy going. No real aggression issues so far. I used to have two full grown chocolates and they were awesome fish. Hopefully the one I have now turns out the same. Gets some pics posted for us!

I just rearranged the tank with some new mopani wood so the water is discolored because of the tannins. Might use some carbon but the color doesn`t bother me that much...but it wouldn`t give very good pics I don`t think. Once the water is clear I`ll post some pics!!! What types of food do you feed? Really want him to get a good start because the glutton(Sev.) eats as if I`m never going to feed him again, so I need to make sure he gets enough.

Mine eats everything I put in the tank. Beefheart, pellets, krill, bio gold, bloodworms and flakes. Mine will actually eat from my hand so if you can get him to do that you can ensure he gets plenty.

I am able to hand feed my blue dempsey so i will try to get him use to me at feeding time. Good to hear that what I use will do the trick. Have you ever tried crickets?

Nope. I try my best not to introduce anything that might carry disease or anything else to the tank.

what kind of diseases can crickets carry that fish can get? It's not like crickets are aquatic or anything like that.

yeah i don't think there are many parasites that can be transferd from a bug to and aquatic creature not saying there arn't any but i think crickest are safe to fee i've never had a problem but they are really messy and i find there wings floating on the top of the tank alot
