guess it really just depends on the individual fish..

these 2 are wild but the first at least shows a 180 won't house it for life

That is true, I've seen a few clown knives up to 36'' in size. I think to grow them out to that size you will need to keep them in extremely nice water quality, keeping them in a wide tank also. They do grow fast at first, but once they've gotten so big they're growth slows down immensely! Those CKs are probably very old!

Thank you, my fellow inhabitant of Bad St. (all the way at the end too!)

No problem, always here to help a fellow badviller out!

my clown knife is in my 210, he's a tough bugger, i named him Clyde. he definitely likes to eat, but he's picky.

i have no clue how a clown knife would get along with rays. i do know that Clyde and my old silver aro Pinky were buddies, they got along famously for a long time. didn't defend each other the way that Pinky and Dozer (cichla Ocellaris) did back in the day though.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. Now, your 210, is that the 7x2x2? Also how big is Clyde?

Clyde was 15" when i got him a year ago (actually might be longer than that).. not sure if he's grown much. he's kinda tough to measure cause he only comes to the glass when he wants to eat..
