Next time you see the dog wandering around, call him over. Then give him to your sister so he is out of the neighborhood and the guy will never see him again. You should have told him that if he didn't pick the dog up, you were going to keep him. He probably wouldn't have cared.

Dogs are pretty smart. If he appreciated the care you gave him and is being neglected by his owner, if he can get out again, he will. He'll know where to find you.
you did a good thing. i agree with the others, if the dog comes back just keep it if your able to give it a home.
Yeah I have a low tolerance for really really neglected dogs.. If he wasn't that grateful to have it back and it was in crappy care next time(and I'm sure they're will be one..) I would just keep him..
I made sure I made the guy tell me exactly what his collar said (It had no tag) It was a john deere collar. It was definitely his. Thanks for the kind words guys the dog was so loving and nice I really will be taking it as I see it the dog was lost for several days got sprayed by a skunk had road tar in its fur and was literally starving to death. I really regret giving him back but I had faith since the dog was so loving that he had been raised by kind people. I was wrong and I played my cards wrong tooblazin_dragon18;3034862; said:
