Might not have been the best idea, but I just couldnt help myself seeing the 7'' albino channel crammed into a 10G.

He's in my 55G right now, swimming around checking out all the hiding spots. Turned the lights off for him.

Before you say, OMG STUPID IDIOT IT'S GOING TO GET HUGE!
I already know this. The 55G is only temporary, once he outgrows it he'll be going into a pre-form pond along with one of my large plecs.

No pics ATM, maybe tommorow.
 
Yeah, He is quite a looker. Vety High yellow right now.
Just beautiful.
Gonna get big quick though! Sometime around June/July I'll be moving him into an indoor pond I'm setting up.
I'll try and take some pictures of him tommorow.
 
Just wondering, would anyone like to share there stories of keeping channel cats?
I'd love to see some pictures of some MFK Channels.

What do you feed yours? The place I got him it was feeding him flippin' tetra flakes.
I've got him on shrimp pellets, tubifex worm cubes and I'm going to try and get him to take Hikari Massivore.
 
cool cat hope you get that pond even if you don't get an indoor pond depending on where you live you could put it in an out door pond
 
Well, I live in Washington so I'm kind of afraid to put him in an outdoor pond. Although, if it was truely needed my brother in-laws mother has two large ponds were the channel could live. One houses smaller koi about 12'' and the other HUGE pond has got to be atleast 500 gallons houses some truely monster koi that I've gotta snap some pics of. I dont know how there Koi survive though, as temps do get to freezing point here.

I've got money to invest in a pond though, and I'm going to go go home depot to look at pre-form ponds tommorow, found some cheap ponds on CL I'm looking into buying.

He is a really cool cat though, love the wayt he looks.

The one I'm looking at is 7-1/2ft long x 4-1/2ft wide x 2-1/2ft deep.
Shaped like a bone cut in half.
I might just get a pond liner and make a big square out of 2x4's.
 
Ya you would probably get more water volume in the same amount of space by using a pond liner. What type filter you gonna run?
