Today I impulse bought a royal because it was 6$. The royal is about 2-3 inches. I know they like wood and I have plenty in my tank. Anything else I need to know about this little guy? How and what should I feed him? I plan on feeding him algae tabs and zucchini plus he has a wide variety of plants to munch on in my tank. Any help would be appreciated

Are you talking about a Royal Pleco or a "Royal" Green Terror?

You payed $6 for it!! That's the best price I've ever seen for them. Great steal. You pretty much got it covered when it comes to feeding. Wood, algae wafers and zucchini
That's why I couldn't resist! Awesome I really don't know much about this fish but seems decently easy to care for

Don't be alarmed when they become poop machines...lol. Great pick up for that price. They are an awesome pleco. Ours would come out to eat zucchini literally immediately as I was putting it in the tank on "The Pleco Feeder".

Good to hear they arnt shy! I don't want a pleco that I never see lol

I just fed my Gibbiceps, Bristlenose and Clowns their weekly Zucchini/cucumber combo. They seem to love it so much more than leafy-greens - still variety is the key. It's the only time I really see the plecos get aggressive towards the cichlids, as they don't like to share, but my cichlids love their veggies too.

I'm gonna try baked carrots next - big long one, sliced lengthwise

Make a write up if it they like it! I'll make sure to vary the plecos diet, is there any way to sex them?
