Why do you need saltwater if your pump is running dry , thats due to evaporation. You dont add salt to evaporated water. Water evaps , not salt. Your going to kill your fish personally. Top offs should be done with freshwater that you can grab from your sink. You could have dumped 5 gallons of water from your fridge filter thing and been done with it. You should also learn from this , and buy salt and water conditioner and do it yourself.
Also seeing how you dont have a car , your probly younger than 16. You shouldn't be tossing words like that at your mom.

i agree with the top off of the fresh water, but depending how large his tank is and how much water evaporated, your still going to lower the salinity by adding a lot of freshwater. p.s im 23 with no car, but thats because of stupid things we do before you realize the trouble isnt worth the risk. car and license coming back soon
