empty the wallet is understatement LOL. better be ready to sell a few body parts. id love to get a 400-500mm high speed lens for shooting at the races, but they cost a couple grand :(

I'm saving up for this. This is the next glass I need to add to the collection.

Canon Zoom Super Wide Angle EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM Autofocus Lens

I did the same thing, I bought the Sony DSC-W300 with the little telephoto attachments with wide angle. I call it my little big camera. Takes great pictures of other things accept all the other things I want it to do. So I passed it on to my wife and promoted myself.;)

there's so much i want, where to start:

- a couple SB600 flash units
- 60mm f/2.8
- 10-24mm
- 105mm f/2.8
- 400mm f/2.8
- D300

now if i could only get an extra $30-40k :D

yea my camera is a fuji z30 10mp

my cheapy 18-55mm :)

That's a real nice photo. Was it taken with a Canon 450D?

What settings did you use? I still have trouble with getting quality fish photos with my Canon. I usually photograph fish using Aperture Priority with an ISO of 1600 and no flash.

thx! used my Nikon D40. this is what i normally do:

since i dont have a wireless flash, i set an extra light on top of the tank. i shoot in S mode, usually with a shutter speed of 1/50 to 1/80, ISO 200 (i dont like shooting over ISO 200. anything over 800 is really grainy, and at 1600 i probably wont even like the pic enough to keep it). i adjust exposure comp depending on the how the photos are coming out. White balance i leave at auto.

and then ill do a little brightness/exposure/shadows adjustments in photoshop :)

oh...if you dont have an overhead flash unit, the key thing is LOTS and LOTS of light. use extra lights if you have them. this way you can use low ISO settings and a slighter quicker shutter speed. if the pic is too bright, ill increase the shutter speed. the faster the speed the more in focus the fish will be.
