So I'm heavily considering getting 3 Serrasalmus elongatus...

Maybe start out with RBP first, they are easy to take care of, cheap, and readily available. good beginner P. just my opinion though, as you may not like Ps they are not what everyone thinks they are (badass eating machines that terrorize small towns and cities) they actually are not real exciting, some cichlids are much easier to maintain, much badder asser (lol) prettier, and chicks dig em more. many cichlids are actully "pets" that greet you at the tank as opposed to the Ps that hide all day then freak out when you turn on the lights or open the lid

I sold a buddy of mine 5 super reds, and now there is only 2. And those guys will come right up to the tank and "aknowlege" you. He hand feeds them and evrything. It all depends how you interact with your fish.

i would throw a couple in there with a 90, or even 3 like you planned, keep them plenty fed, nice places to hid and "claim", if they eat eachother oh well, pretty used to that with p, the nice thing about buying more than one is the one that grows the fastest eats the others, that way your getting the "pick of the litter" so to speak.

I would highly reconsitter your thought of having three in the same tank. When they are little you might get away with it but when they get bigger they will fight for space. They are one of the biggest species of piranha! Anyway if you did it you would have to start with at least 150 plus gallons.

Sorry man this is alot of false info..Even young they will kill each other....dont even try...second THEY ARE NOT THE BIGGEST SPECIES OF PIRANHA! You will be lucky growing larger then 9" if that. And 60-75 gal with powerhead will suffic!
