Ok, I got my first 35g tank about 2 weeks ago. I already aquired another 35. Now i'm searching for a 125 or larger. Is this a good idea or should I learn from my small(i thought they were big a week ago by the way) tank?
i have a 125 and now i want bigger lol it never stops. as long as you have an idea of what your doing and are not making fish suffer but giving them an adequate home then go ahead and upgrade just keep asking questions or doing research on what others have done and learn from they mistakes so you don't make them yourself.
IMO GO BIG! (fish tank) and stay home (fish keeping)lol
I would stick with your 35g for a couple months. There is a decent amount of stuff to know, and its more fun if you know from experience then looking everything up on the net. Its atleast what I did.
If you find a sweet deal, do it up. Just make sure you got the basics down, keeping the water in check and water changes etc. etc. etc.... So just wait until the right tank comes your way and then go for it. I just stepped up from a 55 to a 125 and it was quite the change at first. But now it doesn't seem too big
Probably not the right forum, but... I'm diligent about water changes. I'm not really a believer of pouring chems. Can I do to many small water changes?
I say go for a 125. The maintenance is easier and you can have a wider variety of fish to choose from. Don't overstock - keep in mind the adult size of the fish. Plus your fish will thank you. Also IMO Eheim has performed leaps and bounds better than anything else I've tried.
I have a 210, and I'm already planning on getting a 300-500g next.
na i take off 4 to 6 inch from normal water level weekly on my 125 and fill slowly with city water everything stays good level and i only use chems once a month doing it weekly gets ($$$) pricey really fast but i do keep meds and water primer on reserve just incase
I keep water conditioner and ich meds but that's it. When i set everything up the petco guy(don't get me started) sold me a bunch of stuff that I think just made everything worse.
