So it's a 800gal. With 3 Aro's?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
aro's jump mainly due to spook or starvation

feed ur animals, and provide plenty of space and they shouldn't jump. 800gal pond, i'd put more then 10 in there lol. i had 3 in my 400gal, finally reduced to a pair which i might end up selling shortly :(

you could put more then 3 in there...just make sure that your catfish is way smaller like i mentioned before...the net will be more benifical to stop preditory birds then from the aro jumping...they tend not to jump out of ponds...

they'll probably jump out of that pond. there's a thread here somewhere the guy had a 15 ft pond with over 2 ft aros...they jumped out eventually, same with another member..but do it anyways..lol.

I still want to know about temp. Most pond owners have temp issues IMHO, unless your going to heat your pond, or you live in the tropics Aros could be unkeepable. Wat's winter like where you are?

ya me and my dad were planning on doing something like this but after hearing about all these things i didnt consider before like temp and external factors we decided to go koi instead

if i remember right he is in socal...he said it gets to the 70's in the winter i think...it has been a while...hes also putting rtc and a few others in this pond...all this is if my memory serves me right...though in another thread he states that the cats are the only inhabitants planned for this pond, unless he is getting multipule ponds now...

sure 800 gal.!!! put like 6, thats better. But put them in at the same time, and its best if they r the same size.

This is going to be awesome, make sure to post pics. And i've seen aro ponds without a net, as ethnics said just keep them well fed and in pristine water conditions and they'll be good.
