So Much for my Good Luck Streak!

Actually since the death there has been an issue with the whole tank... I do daily water param checks and have never had an issue... all of a sudden Amonia went off the charts, Nitrates and Nitrites are both off the charts as well... I've done 4 50% water changes per day and still can't get them to stay down for more than a few hours. It's really starting to bother me actually....I'm spending more time on this one tank than all the others (11) combined. It's not a filter crash as I wouldn't be seeing the Nitrates growing like this. I've searched the tank for something rotting but it's a bare bottom tank... there is only so many places it could be and I havn't found it. Checked the filters... both are doing fine and aren't in need of any cleaning as they have both be done within the past 3 days. I can't figure this out...

maybe some feeder or something stuck in the filter tubing

nope, Aquaclear 110 and aquaclear 50 on that tank, I can see inside the tubes and they are clear of anthing like that.

I seemed to have gotten a longer run lastnight out of it but still seeing rising levels this morning :(
stop the feeding for a day or two
and then check if the nitrates are still on the rise
try adding a bio filter to your tank that may help you as well

Already stopped the Feedings... the problem seems to be getting better now so i don't think I'll have to worry about adding any extra filtration to this tank... I added some water conditioner to that particular tank that I was given along with a used tank I bought... I'm thinking this has something to do with it... and I've thrown the bottle as there is something deffinetly wrong and it's the only explaination at this point.

Anyway Live and learn I guess...

Thanks, I've had it coming though I think... It's been years since I've lost a fish that wasn't by design... so it was bound to happen... I have a feeling I'm going to lose another 2 soon... since it always seems to happen in 3's for me.

Perhaps it's just my superstitions but it ALWAYS happens that way.

Sorry for the lost, Id think its the water from the tap. Its spring time, they will add a large concentration of cholrine to the water and the ammonia is also quite high too
