So Nice (Natives in 29 Gallon?)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Bluespotted sunnies, black banded sunnies, pygmy sunnies, some madtoms, log perch, 1 or 2 tule perch, 1-2 trout-perch, texas blind catfish, or if you are up for a real challenge desert pupfish.

I'll be helping him with any collecting it he goes with that. Some good fish wor that tank would be 3 madtoms, 7 small shiners, killies, or minows that only reach a few inches in length, and three top minnows of some kind or another. Whether you get natives or that leaf fish it should be a fun tank to watch.:)

What if they life in spring-feed areas?

the ones i find in the lake prefere warmer water (76-80deg.) i usually find them in the shallows during summer...ill get a few this summer and post piscs to ID them.

I had a 20 gallon tank for a few years with 3 sunfish and a bullhead. I loved the setup one of my sunnies reached 3/4 of a pound and it was great. My mistake was having too many minnows in there over a weekend of fishing and a disase killed all my fish. Since then I have had a hard time to set up another tank. I plan to real soon though.

Why did you have a bullhead in a 20-gallon tank?

yeh , you may be talking about a goby or something, because ive never heard of an 80 degree tolerating sculpin, and most are in deep water, or in swift rivers

I would stick with natives in a 29, small natives of course. Save larger tanks for fish you pay for or the bigger, cooler natives.
There are a lot of cool looking, interesting smaller natives out there though.
