I remember when I was new to arowanas, I wanted a blue(black) arowana, I had never seen a fry before, the only pics I had seen was the adults. The lfs had black arowana fry and a 6" silver arowana. The guy at the lfs said that when the black arowana would grow up it would be a dull grey black and would look ugly. He said that blue(black) arowana was really a silver that they had dyed blue. So I took the silver arowana. FYI the black was 20.00 and silver was 50.00 Now know that black are really blues.
This was 5-6 years ago. I had a chance at a black for 20.00 and that stupid lfs guy tricked me.

I love black arowanas I think that they awesome. I use to see black aros with the sac all the time like 3 years ago for like $15 and now they are illegal to export little ones to US now. just adults
