Alright, I kind of rememebr why I stayed away from live plants in the past...Well, let me say ... why I didn't get to heavily involved in them. Looking at the 220 all my swords look like cr*p. I think I am getting enough fert. in there. Also they have the 2 Current USA 2 96Watt 10Ks and 2 96Watt 8 something Ks..... WTF is wrong!!!????? I will have to try and get some decent pics up so maybe you guys can see what I am alking about. This is really getting frustrating. I do not want to scrap $500 in lighting. (which would've cost a lot more but I got a decent deal on them)
I shouldve waited until I was at home to post this with pics and the exact fert. I am using. They just seem to be slowly fadeing in color and getting yellow tips.!!!!!!!
I will try tonight to get some pics going and some info on the ferts. I just HAD TO VENT A BIT!!!!!!!!! sorry....

Hey Blackwater, I'm probably the last person that should be giving advice since I've been looking at green pea soup in my tank for the last week (seriously, but it's clearing now with my new lighting). Anyway, I *mostly* just want to encourage you to hang in there. My only suggestion might be to try some CO2 injection if you're not already? I've got 3 DIY reactors on my 55 gallon.

Good luck!

Thx man.... I did think about the CO2 but after many conversations with some people on here we decided it wasn't the best thing for my tank.....
Hmmm, I was going to tell you how useful a UV sterilizer can be to help with pea soup (if it is single celled algae, because it cleared my whole tank up), but then I started to think "maybe my UV is messing with my plants". I think Wyld said before that the UV can actually harm some of the benificial stuff the plant need. I am running chemipure- elite in my 2nd stage of the FX-5. I wonder if this could hurt anything???
Thx again for the moral support man. Thats just as important as hard core factual comments.

Hee hee, I'm a girl! :D luv_my_grlz is a reference to my daughters, ages 6 and 4. 'Course, I luv hubby too!

I run DIY CO2 in both of my tanks and ya know, sometimes I get lazy and forget to change out the solution when the bubbles stop, and I definitely can see the difference in my plants. Someday I'll probably go pressurized, but for now this works.

I think my green pea soup was because I had a new tank that hadn't completely cycled yet, plus my lighting was WAY out of whack. Got my new T5 HO 48" 4 bulb fixture yesterday and within a couple hours you could tell a difference in the water. Can't see me trying the UV sterilizer though, just from a $$$ perspective.

Anyway, back to your original post, your lighting sounds good so maybe you just need more  fish poop?

Post some pics!

Cheers!

UV's are a bad option for both unicellular, and for planted tanks.

CO2 isn't a needed nutrient for his tank.

Read the label, chemipure removes co2. With plants that is a HUGE no no.

Get pictures up. It is most likely that your swords are just going from their emersed form to their submerged form. Perfectly normal, no need to worry.
