Commons are the aggressive ones who attack other turtles, AST's in Water are pretty docile and will not attack other turtles there size. I have kept AST's together with other Turtles for nearly 20 years, never have had one attack another Turtle even on accident.

There is a lot of difference between the two, in most regards turtles like My Softshells are more aggressive Turtles than the AST.
i agree with you man, people tend to hear snapping turtle and freak. my grandpa had a snapper that he held, it only bit him once when he first got it. nice softshell though

Softies are nasty in their own rigth way, actually I dont recomend keeping them with other turtles asside their own kind...that is when not belonging to territorial species, but the kind of damage they provoque for most species is completly diferent then a ´snapper´s.
