^ Damn, didn't realize crays cost so much money over there... in HK they are pretty cheap... white, orange and blue crays can be picked up normally for around USD $5 - $10...

As for the quarantine question, worst thing that can happen is you introduce a parasite into your tank and it kills your fish and causes a heap of headaches...
 
Personally, I'm not a fan of mixing crayfish with any fish. I had a baby crayfish less than 2 inches long take out a 4 inch killifish. The size of a fish doesn't matter to a cray. If there are fish, the cray will eat them.
 
^ Or if the fish is big enough / aggressive enough, it will eventually eat the cray...
