Don't be so sure about it being a tem. I don't think it is personally. Remember tongue's post 'ID please?' awhile back? I think that fish is just stressed.

As for growth... I have the same problem. It is just a matter of who is a more aggressive eater and gets more food. One of mine is 4x bigger than its sibling and they both were 1-1.5" when I got them. I had to separate them in fear of the big one eating the little one

his colors change everyime someone or something goes near the tank..

I am also having the same issue with the ten monos that I had purchased back in Feb. Two of them outgrew the others by about an inch...and they were all the same size when I purchased them. I did some research and came across a website (don't remember where I found that site) that said the peacock females would get bigger than the males. Thinking about it, for largemouth bass, the females do get way bigger than the males. I'm curious to see what others (who have kept peacocks for a long time and have a proven pair) have to say about this.

i have thee same issue one of my monos is double my other mono. it is more than possible that some peacock bass genes have a higher gowth rate then other peacock bass it may differ from cichla to cichla this gene probably got triggerd as u put him in his new home.

1 more thing, could it be possible that wild bred cichla have a higher growth rate then the farm bred ones i dont know but i think it would be a good survival gene for the cichlas growing in the wild. then agian they have fresh wide open waters.. anyhow wrong or right this is a matter alot of us have seen or have.
