Lets liven up the breeding forum!

So who has bred fish in the past, how did they do it and what they did to the fries?

Ive bred a lot of platys and mollies some fancy guppies and bettas in the past.
I had a lot more luck with live bearers as theyre pretty good sized when born.
I tried breeding oscars too but didnt have too much luck and i did it half as$ed so it wasnt succesful.

I really love it when the small fish starts to look like their parent but in miniature form. Its kind of fulfilling. :)

Anybody else wants to share?

cichlids for me, most of the common ones- 3 types of convicts, oscar (tiger and albinopair), jds, salvini, jaguar, cren. regani, 4 different types of aspisto (caucatoides triple red and orangeflas+borelli+inca) and two times without sucess my p. senguals at 10.5 and 12in long

ive spawned 8 types of mexican livebearers almost 2 years ago except for tequila which is the only species i keep now....... multipunctata made for great feeders for a while too

im gonna grab a new pair of hrp from jeff rapps as well as some rams (gold or blue, whatever he has)

im currently growing out a quad of red tiger motas with the runt male at 2in the big male at 3in and the females 1.25-1.75in

2 wild brazil monoclusus sp "spangled", looks like a male female too at 7.5 and 9in

and as of tomorrow 2 hystrix rays for me togive a try with

convict x convict, texas x uro, texas x convict, some random mbuna...

none of them were raised, im not interested in fry.

What about those mollies P45? I have raised molly, guppy, and platy fry.. I kept around 2-6 mollies but they disappeared, I kept both of my platy fry, but one died, and I lost my last guppy months ago... I am hoping to breed firemouths soon.

those particular specimens didnt last long enough to breed, tho ive bred a number of livebearers anyway, its just those things require no effort to breed

Guppys, convicts and N. brichardi in that order. Does hand spawning trout in a hatchery count? Because I have done that as well. :) I am currently trying to continue with the brichardis and also firemouths.

Guppys, mollys, platys, zebras, medakas, weather loaches, angels, pike topminnows, giant dianos, corys, some type of gunnel, banjo cats, African butterflyfish. Most of them by accident.

Blue Acara and random Mbuna
