I just got a 1kg bottle of seachem safe and I feel kind of stupid for buying prime all this time. I have a feeling this bottle will last me a long time. It would be nice if local fish stores carried this product.
Prime is concentrated enough as is. That is why other less concentrated water conditioners are on the market.
Think of it like this ...
1 cap = 10 gallons (normal water conditioner) - Beginners. Normally have tanks between 1 and 20 gallons.
1 cap = 50 gallons (prime) - Those that know what they are doing, and have tanks ranging from 10-300+ gallons.
And then there is seachem safe - those with monster tanks, experienced fish keepers.
If seachem safe was available to the beginners readily, it could cause them to ... overcondition? their water with the "never too much of a good thing" principle.
lol why is prime ranging from 10 to 300+ gallon it shouldn't start with 50g+ no?
but everything else i agree +1 muffy! speaking of this i was at the lfs today and a lady came in saying "if i over condition i could put fish in my new tank right without having to what was it? cycle the tank or w/e" fyi she had one small bottle of amquel or w/e the 1 cap = 10g & her tank was... well still sitting on the counter being paid for... LOL
Why? Because a lot of us monster fish keepers use only prime and have smaller tanks. I have 2 10 gallon tanks and a 25 gallon tank and use prime. 1/5 of a capful maybe a little extra for good measure is still fine ... I'm not going to waste money on other conditioners
i wouldnt know what to do with a 10g tank... lol i had one before and ended up usen it as a cooler when my friends were over... put a couple bags of ice in it and kept the beers cold while hangin out at the house... lol of course it ended up breaking cause one of the friend got drunk and broke it... -___-+ lol
