where do you get your Metronidazole and how can I get it in liquid form to soak my food in? I have a few SA cichlids that crap NOTHING BUT white stringy crap and I gotta do something about it.

I have only ever seen it in pill form that I gave my dog years back.

Do I need to get it from my Vet or any LFS has it or what?

And should I just do it everyday until the white goes away and is it safe to use on 2-3-month-old fry?

Is there a specific brand I should look for? (pics helpful)

I have only seen it in pill and powder form and would get from my lfs. If you don't have one near you, quick cure from API sold at Petsmart or Petco contains Metro. For soaking the food just dissolve in tank water and add the food, you may also want to treat the whole tank as well.

What I did is I put the dose of powder metro in a disposable cup with a little bit of water and some bloodworms since that's all that my sick fish ate.(sajica) and I let it soak in it then throw it in the tank. I did it till I finish the metro I also did it directly to the tank so that way if Their was any parasite swimming around it would kill it. After a week of treating my sajica finally pooped normal and is now eating pellets and flakes

But I am going to order some nls hex shield and feed that to my fish from Now as a precaution for next times

my friend at the LFS I used to work at told me API General cure has Metro and Prazi and I can mix it w/ some garlic juice or clam juice and put it with the food in a sealed container and shake the heck out of it for a while.

Will that work?

general cure has both metro and...I guess prazi? I knew it had metro did not know about prazi....I wouldn't rely on general cure to get rid of hex if that's your issue...I'd get Metroplex by Seachem. Mix the powder in just enough water to dissolve it completely and soak your pellets in it. Done. no need to shake or get fancy with garlic and clam juice lol.

Epsom salt - far easier on your fish, and just as effective when administered to the gut. See sticky above ......
