the genius i had come clean my tank since i didnt have the time due to work used soap im guessing an didnt make sure that they cleaned it all up. now when i turn my bubbles on the top of the water gets some what sudsie. ive been changing the water but that doesnt seem to help and the fish seem to be doing perfectly fine so do i keep doing water changes or do i just leave it alone and let the soap finaly work its way out?????????

Are you sure that it is soap? Can you ask 'the genius' what exactly they did use?

What water conditioner are you using when you add new water?

What size is the tank? How long has it been set up?

yeah he said he used just a normal disinfectant soap to clean the filters and whatnot

i use API stress coat+

I'm so sorry that you even know such an IDIOT!!

You need to disconnect the filters and clean them out. What kind of filters, canister or hang on back?

How long has this tank been setup? Can you move the fish to another tank?

This is not good. Especially without knowing what he used specifically. Get the fish out of there & break the tank down & clean the hell out of everything. You may need to throw out your gravel as well. Clean filter very thoroughly & replace media. Good luck I hope you fish don't die from this.

well i have no clue who the idiot is it was someone from petland but they are in a 30 gallon for now until they get a little bigger and ive got a tetra EX 30 and a penguin 350 bio-wheel on it so they have LOTS of filtration lol (i love my fish =])

thanks for the advice tho ill just break it down as soon as i can and start from scratch i guess

I have suds in my planted tank, and I am 100% sure I have never used soap in the tank. However its not a lot of suds, not like its covering the whole top; more so lining the tank walls.

Sorry about the bad luck, I am super scared to have someone work with into my tanks, I havent figured out what to do when I go on vacation.
