He makes his stands out of cinderblocks. looks cheap though, but not the first time hearing about wobbling stands rather than swaying stands.
 
my landlord suggested that i could buy those safty belts that attaches to the wall??? is their such thing??

anyway my mom is screamming at me right now about how crazy i am for staying, hugging and trying to save my beloved fish! lol
 
damn that was crazy. lucky my tanks are small nothing happen. hope there no after shock throught the day. hope everyone save

and yes they do make saftey belts. in my expience the dont work, but i used them for little kids, not earthquakes:nilly:
 
it's funny you mention that, when i felt the shaking, i woke up and heard a loud thump and i ran to my fish room. Nope no breakages or anything but the water was sloshing around kinda like there were waves in my tank lol.
 
damn i have to go home check on my tanks. thats was pretty intense. .
