You missed the point Neo. No use defending the crackpots who came up with them and put them on the market in the first place :grinno: It is just an unfortunate side effect that people decided they would buy them, and mostly by people who don't know what they are 'cos the supplier gives them a hip name instead of "dyed fish". The suppliers are just as guilty. What makes it worse, is the fact that I know many LFS's that put orders in with their suppliers, and any "out of stock" items are replaced with this months "funky" dyed fish. That isn't supplying a demand, that is forcefully off loading them onto someone who never asked for them. And its not as if you can send them back :irked:

your LFS you are reffering to must not have too many options....... I know i would'nt be able to keep any loyal customers if i sent " this months Funky Dyed fish" as a filler or replacement..........
 
I have seen Betta's packed just like that at an LFS I go to.... Maybe that got them from there.
