Recently purchased a 135 tank and it came with pump and sump and hoses. I've never connect a sump system before and just put new floor in my house. I don't want to risk doing it wrong and coming home to a bunch of water on my floor. Would anyone be willing to come help me install it? I'm on orange by Angels stadium

I have cold beers lol? And how much you charge for your time ?

Even if you don't do by yourself, I'd highly suggest you read up on sumps, drain standpipes, overflows, returns, do and don'ts. This will help you maintain in the long run.

Today I will take pics of the pump, sump, and pipes and hoses that were given to me.
It had a bunch of bioballs in the overflow should I re put them in there and what inexpensive media do you recxomend
I also have media from my filters I don't need anymore if the sump works out

Thanks a lot I'm still working on the stand I was thinking in like 2 weeks but even then I'll wait for whenever is convenient for you so it doesn't hurt your schedule or plans, appreciate it

Yes, take some pictures, OP. IMO, you don't need the bio-balls in the overflow box itself. I would just use bio-balls for your sump. There are many alternative media today that should have greater service space for BB growth, but as long as you have sufficient amount of media with the balls, you should be fine. I personally use bio-balls that are submerged, and have had not issues with any cycling issues. Another thing to keep in mind is based on what you have in your tank, it all serves as surface space for bacteria growth.

I'm not a big fan of bioballs. I have sponge, filter socks, ceramic rings, and k1 media ( still having hard time starting the stupid k1 ). Just woke up sick but i can stop by today or you can text me and i can guide you.

Okay guys I got home and took some pics of what I'm working with
I think I need some egg crate to seperate sump media
I will use the bioballs, and media that is currently in my Cannister and ac110 I'll throw all that in the sump so I dnt have to buy anything.

So do I seperate into 3 sections
1 with the bioballs
1 with sponges and filter socks
1 with the internal pump that leads to my tank?
Would that work? And I will use egg crate to seperate my media that way the water goes through all of them just fine.
