He didnt actually kick it... It got hit with the ball, I'm sure he was just caught up in the game and failed to notice the bird on the field.

If you keep watching one of the player ends up kicking it. Im suprised that he didn't get shot after the game with how crazy soccer hooligans are

so if some one hits a dog on the street(some place it should not be ) and its still kinda alive ...
its ok to get out and kick it a few times because it was going to die anyway?.... That is a pretty horrible excuse to mistreat an animal.

i hope he goes to jail.

yes well..most people on this site seem to frown on animal abuse...its not really that amusing.

Do I condone his actions, No... Is it okay to abuse animals in perfect health or on their last gasp of air... No. Do I think people need to use their own money to prosecute someone for an action like this... YES! Do you really think that people in Somalia really give a crap (just an example)? NO! They have bigger things to worry about not like us that find any way possible to prosecute and load up our jails (since we don't pay for it anyways right). He appologized and thats it. Im guessing you (or anyone else) have never reacted before thinking about consequences.

Im all for it if people like yourself are willing to pay for it... ill be there as a witness from a MFK Video (Im sure your thinking different now. That 10K that we will waste on a trail can go to a school in your town that needs computers or a out reach to low income troubled kids).

But thats just my spoiled "race horse" (narrow minded) thinking:D

It's soccer... Only goal keeper is allowed to use hand! He's a striker, so using hand will result in a penalty! :D Not sure if there's anyone defended him, but there are a few, who wanted to crucify him!

... That was humor

yea

this thread kinda took an interesting turn

If you read at his body language, it appears to me there is no aggression behind it. Soccer players often point their toes under the ball and toss the ball with their laces while balancing in the air. Thats what it looks like to me as to clear the Friggin Field

I think one of the following was going through his mind...

1) the bird can fly and by flicking it up and it should fly away
2) Screw this Team and their bad arse pred Owl... Here goes a jab-kick
etc... you get the picture. I think it was #1 not knowing it was injured as he was Playing a game not looking at the sky for dying birds:D

But maybe its just me and im a A-hole. I also think the fine speaks for itself ($26.00 should buy a new mascot)

watch the video all the way though, he did actually kick it

Folks all over the Middle East and Africa are in Revolt over this. Who kicks a perfectly good meal away like trash?

Unless of course it was a Barred Owl, then it should be just fine.

lets face it, soccer players are not usually the sharpest pencils in the box.
This was such a bone headed thing to do, regardless of intent.
Having an ( mascot) owl there in the first place wasn't smart on the part of the home team either.

was it a barred owl? maybe he was just killing it to help the spotted owl population like game and wildlife officials are already doing :ROFL::ROFL:

no joke, google it, we're really doing that in some areas

its a shame the owl had to die and its worse it was at a soccer game. Probably the worst sport out there
