Well the article said the owl had a broken wing after getting hit by the ball or something, so it wouldnt be a comparison kicking him with all limbs not broken. But id still go one on one if he had both healthy legs.
This was wrong and there is no point in trying to justify it. As far as the arguement that he was in the heat of the game, that is the most pathetic excuse I have heard. Thats like saying, " Hey I got caught up in the heat of the game and punched the other player." That would not fly, if you don't have the ability to control your actions during the game then you shouldn't be playing. I don't know anyone who I consider to be reasonable or intellegent that would think flicking a injured animal off the field would be a good idea in any form.

Alright! I twitted the striker. He apologized, said that he would use his hand if he's a basket ball player. Unfortunately, he's a soccer player! Old habits die hard!
