no offence taken. But your comment about rugby not being a popular sport in many countries is wrong. How many countries play american football on a professional level? America, canada, 5 teams in germany and one in netherlands? Where as rugby is played by pretty much every country.

My house mate here is a huge football fan. like hardcore football fan. We watch so much football it makes me sick. A lot of people in england are crazy about football but its a big part of their culture. Does my head in sometimes tho

I have to agree with you as I said before I think they are over paid actors My Dad bought me up playing rugby I went to Ireland all over England playing its not just the game it’s a brilliant social life as well:nilly: if I was still fit enough I would still play to this day. My son is a big football sorry soccer fan ;) my mates take him to games because I just don’t get it. But as I have said 100 times before if we all liked the same we would all have tanks of guppies.

I will always remember see Mickey Skinner (Mick the Munch) in the Rugby World Cup of 1991 and thinking that’s a mans game.:naughty:

I played pickup Rugby in college. I love playing soccer, but Rugby is the bomb! Makes for a painful night though.

o yes for sure they are a bunch of overpaid wankers.

football (not the english kind, not the american kind just plain football.end. (soccer in my opinion is a stupid name americans have adopted because they would get confused with their own sports) is obviously one of the biggest sports on the planet, and probably my favourite.

rugby, is a great game, not football, but still popular all over the world. watched the wales canada game for a laugh as it was children in need was good fun.

aussie rules, i like that game. dunno why it just appeals lol.

american football. i can almost, and i mean almost, admire it purely on a tactical level, and that is it plain and simple. (just not my cup of tea)

back to the main point you could argue they get paid a fair amount, as it is them that is earning the money for the club, and the amount they are worth to such a hugely financed sport. still think they get a rediculous amount of money though. i kinda wish that playing for your country had more to do with pride nowadays. some england players are lacking a lot.

My vote obviously goes for football (soccer). To touch more on what Davo said, these football players get paid more because the clubs get paid incredibly well. That stumbles over to the players. If rugby were as popular as football, I would guarantee with 100% certainty that they would make as much as football players. Enough said.

oh definately. i think rugby is growing though. put everything into perspective. imagine paying one footballer 100 grand a week. then paying that every week. then paying an entire squad of footballers. and the managers and training staff. and the boards and everyone else who is involved in a football club, that MAKES money ontop of this. big business

Its not just what they get paid to play it’s the sponsorship and every thing that goes with it. Please don’t take this the wrong way as Mr Beckem is an Essex boy well Chingford but for one thick &^%$ he has a lot of toys and money I really think they should get paid a decent amount but it is obscene and well what I’m trying to get over from the video clip is a small knock and they should be up for an Oscar. You would get booed of the pitch if you did that in a Rugby game look at the clip again and well I have had harder knocks from my 11 year old than some of those footballers had. TARTS:D
