Softshells are easy and some get to 18", get someone in Texass to catch you one and ship it. They bite. Hard. S.A. frts have limited export rules thru a lot of thier range and some specie are endangered, also they have a long way to travel which drives the price up. Ask around about natives like redears, sawbacks, or map terrapins, all of which get larger than a foot, shell length, you might get a deal, don't accept a spotted turtle because they are endangered.
