Soft-Shell Turtle Dying!!!! plz help.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well my last tank was 18" deep, 30" long & 12" wide...
you just told me size in feet?? that's too big for my room.

what do you think about 20" deep, 36" long & 15" wide ???

Note:
My turtle has reached its max length & it will not grow anymore... its length of top shell is 8" ....

For now I would pick up a cheap rubbermaid tub or storage container to keep the turtle in until you are able to get a better home for it.

How about simply releasing it in a river? It's a native species...

:iagree:no offense but it does not sound like it has the best conditions with you. I am not saying that you cannot care for it but that it might be better if you wait a little bit until you have plenty of space for them and have done a bit more research on them. softshells are a difficult species of turtle to keep so it should not be something that is taken lightly. the require much more attention than any fish and have very specific needs. my advice is to find another home for it and wait a little bit while you read up some more and save up some money so that you can house it nicely.
