So I'm not sure if its the quarantine or everything going on lately but I just decided to trade every fish I had in my 125 to start over spur of the moment.

I decided to not do a community this time around and instead keep a solo fish; something I've never kept before but that always caught my eye.

Hmm.. guess we might have to zoom in a little more to be able to see him (or her) :D

Here's the circulation pump for scale.

I hear managuesnse cichlids can be pretty interactive so im excited to see how this plays out. I love when fish are personable or have an attitude.

I figure the 125 should be good to keep him solo, have it running with a 50 gal sump too.

Hes super shy still, hiding behind the overflow but in hoping he'll warm up to me in the next few weeks.

I have some pictus catfish I could throw in there for the time being. I just didn't want to throw anything that could hurt it since he's so small. I might try that to help him feel at ease.

Out of curiosity, how do these guys do with plecos long term? Is it kinda like an Oscar? If it fits I eats?? Lol

How large is he? How large is the pictus u would be tossing in? Not sure how they do with Pleco's. Large one would be fine!

Hes about 4 or 5 inches, not big enough to eat the jaguar or cause harm.

I like the idea of tetras but I wouldn't have were to put them later as my other tanks are well stocked already.

I'll give it a few days with the pictus in there to see if he starts coming out. If he does by them, I might not even worry about dither.

Thank you!

Got some better pictures this morning.

Hes been hidding a lot less. I've seen him exploring the tank more and also looks like he switched his "home base" to the coconut cave.

Hes really washed out most of the time, tho every now and then I see intense coloring. But then it fades away again lol.
