You just suck with your marm. I think she would take pellets if she came to live with me! LoL! But yeah, its best to get your pikes on pellets, much easier on you! Frozen foods are great too!

Strigatas will have more color, as well as an ocelli behind the pectoral fins. Depending on the variant, its normally either white, yellow, or reddish. ;) Venezuela are pretty drab and plain in coloration when compared.

What is an ocelli? Is it a spot?

If my fish turns out to be a drab old Ven, I will love him anyways:D

It is a black round spot usually Behind Pectoral, at base of caudal or in the dorsal.
Sometimes the absence or presence of this spot help to identify a species or whether female or male.
