3 new soldier catfish from Rod of Predatory Fins, ~8":

Very cool Viktor! I'm surprised you only got three. I was planning on buying more but I hesitated on pulling the trigger and boom, they where gone. Glad you got some, so I know some of them went to a good home.

I know I love mine. I haven't measured them but I feel they've grown in the short time I've had them. Neither ever hide despite plentiful places to do so and they often patrol looking for food. I mentioned it in the other thread that to my surprise they will even eat black beard algae. Mine are so outgoing and they recognize me already as a food source and no threat so I am able handfeed them at the surface. Well until my Trachycorystes smell the food then I gotta get my hand out of there because they have bit me in their enthusiasm. And while the Trachy's haven't drawn blood they can pinch pretty good.

I got 3 last ones, including one with a damaged eye, as amazingly was spotted by our peers and conveyed in another thread.

What you describe about yours, I see with ours as well. No hiding, oblivious to lighting, not afraid of keeper.

Will post a video of getting them from Predatory Fins soon.

Awesome,I was wondering if you jumped on them while they were on sale.

Very interesting! You'd expect Raphael-type catfish to stuff themselves away all day where you can't see them, and only come out in the dark.

Did type get these last three in the recent pier shipment?
Hi Dave. One was from pier, unfortunately he brought two in, but one didn’t make the trip over to the uk. I have managed to source two more (they land the 25th all
Being well) that will be me with enough then, I’ll split them between two tanks for now and see how they progress. I may have to move one or two on in the future. But being so rare. I’m getting my hands on as many as I can while they’re available. As I fear they might vanish again for years to come.

Road trip to Predatory Fins, Boca Raton, Florida, USA. Swapping large fish - tropical gar, niger catfish, and oscars - for smaller fish - Lithodoras dorsalis, gulper catfish, black ear shark catfish, Aral barbel, Indo-Pacific tarpon, and Chinese hi fin loaches:
