Solo wet pet suggestions...

Other than that- Midas/Devil, Jag, Dovvi or a paratilapia polenni.

My polenni is one of my best wet pets, second only to a midas that I grew up with. She was ten times worse than that video up there! Aggressive if you went too near the glass, more so if you touched it, she was also loving and followed us about, she could clearly distinguish who was who in the family, she was beautiful when she flapped about, she loved strokes, had to be hand fed and she got grumpy and happy like a person would from various things lol. Bless her!

Is that tank big enough for a Mbu? Not completely familiar with them but I like the look of them.

Giant gouramis have a nice long lifespan, great personality, not picky eaters, easy to care for and on the downside, as docile as they are, some cannot have tankmates. Mine is at least 10 yrs old and 2 ft in length.

They can be very aggressive to other fish too, I had to move mine on... used to glass bang although I think in was more for food, they are like bottomless pits...

Thumbs up on the Jardini, I never owned one but I think a tank that size it would make a awesome wet pet, my other suggestion would be a Nothern Pike, they get to be equally sized & definitely a force to be reckoned with,,,,,

uh...a pike isn't fitting in that tank, and gets WAAAAAAAAAY bigger than a jar...

don't northern pike get 4-5 foot?

I agree,,, that was a bad suggestion, I didn't realize they can reach lengths of 5' Hopefully he will go with the Jardini, I love the large scales on them,,, Very Majestic looking"
