Well just after xmas i went out to a few far away LFS and at one they had a couple of wild caught wolf characins just labeled as 'hoplias sp' im no wolf expert but to me they looked like malabralacus.... About 5" for £60 and looked in very good condition.

I was really tempted but left it after i picked up a big dovi :naughty:

Now ive really regretted it and i'll be going back next sunday. If they still have them i might buy one or both of them. i work hard for my money and in my eyes they are worth it.

I wanna know would they mix with other fish? heres a stocklist the tank is 6x2x2
Threadfin acara
Geophagus areos
Geophagus altifrons
Sat. Daemon
Sat. Pappaterra
Bocourti
EEGG
VATF
Cichla
Rotkiel severums
Argentea
Clown loach
Giraffe cat
Hampala barbs
Might be some more that im forgetting
The smallest fish is about 2.5"

Or is there a chance that it could do some damage.....

If not how long could it live in a 2x1x15???? and are they jumpy?

Hit and miss, i'd say. Possibly small enough that it could learn to get on but also verging on large enough to kill anything it didn't like. I think it has been seen so often where people introduce small Wolves to com. tanks that eventually eat everything, it's probalby not worth the risk. Except if your Channarox. Then you can mix anything with everything.

not worth the risk IMHO especially considering the species that are in the tank already.

Channarox is the MAN!

It would be risky with Geos and other peacful fish and its very risky with small fish as wolfs have large mouths

If you have alot of hideing spots in the tank then you could try it wolfs that size will be a little shy and won't be to territorial and shouldn't be a problem to any thing that can't fit in there mouths but the older and bigger they get the more likely tankmates will go missing

:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

boggs, the 5" wolfs can and will eat any 2.5" fish.
but if they were all big enough not to be eaten, then it would work out fine IMO cause you have plenty fish in there.
and two should do fine together.
but yea...dont take the risk if you have 2.5" fish.

Im not aloud but i might be able to use my 2x1x15 tank, how would that work?

you could house them in there a while.
like until they reach about 8 inches...so not long.
whats in the 2x1x15?
