I believe you are correct. I made this post before I finished Ichthyology, but now as I look back on old posts I can see the error of my ways.

I live in Connecticut. We only have one darter species, the brown darter (unsure of latin name right now), and I've never been able to trap or catch one.

lol we have brown darters in the state also (Florida) but impossible for me to catch as they are roughly 7 hours up North as way to hot here .
I bought mine .

Should have more than that. Etheostoma olmstedi Tessellated darter and Etheostoma fusiforme Swamp darter also show up in CT. And to the OP beautiful fish!
Nice. I hear i hae some good ones here in PA. Where would i find them and how would i catch them?
