I got stripped bass thumb before that is always a good feeling also trout thumb, and pickerel thumb that hurt really bad especially when it was -3 out.

Haha I judge how good my day of bass fishing is by how tore up my thumbs are. After 30 or more bass they get quite raw!

The red sores look like the sores they get when they fan their beds.

Not to freak you out or anything, but I have caught a few bass that have drawn blood by thrashing about and scraping a knuckle or two, but those are big guys, 20 inches plus. Not very common though.

yeah boy! thats what i look forward to at the end of the day! but depending on the fish you can get a pretty ripped up thumb from just one or two
