I think, that hump's getting out of control!

How do the nuchal humps form exactly? Does a female have to be around, or does it just grow on its own regardless of tankmates?

It all depends on the fish.. This guy only gets it when he is the dominant fish in the tank and there has to be somthing for him to chase I do not have a female with him... I used to have another guy that would only get it around breeding time... My female gets one just before spawning..
