nice work guyz, wow you guys are bringing back some old memories for me.
i remember going out hella late at night with a crew wearing my gloves and black hoody... thou my days of street art are long gone....

I beleive the tool used for this was called a "scribe"... basically a hand-held pen with a very sharp steel point at the tip that was used for manual hand engraving.

In NY it's just called using any sharp object you happen to have with you.
