Some Help or Advice Please

Yes, just clean till the water is clear, stir it up. 100 pounds in my 90 is more than enough. It's kinda off white.

You may want to start with 1 bag (100lbs.) I set up a 180 and used less than 1 bag. I also added crushed coral, around 30lbs or so. I second using pool sand. Easy to clean and about 8 dollars a bag.

Is 150 pounds enough or too much for a 150 gallon?

I just went through this exercise with a 75g and 125g. All I can say is you can NOT rinse the sand enough. It was almost an all day job!

As far as how much sand to use, just keep adding until you have depth of sand that you want. I used approx 70lbs for my 125g but that was for only about 3/4 of the tank. I built a rock "mountain" on one corner of the tank without sand on the bottom.

There are some videos if you do a search on the "art" of vacuuming the sand. I takes some time to experience to get it to a science.

Here's one video that will help:

Unless it is a tall tank, I use about a pound per gallon. My 120 is pretty tall, so I use 100. My 110 is about the same as a 75 foot print, so I used 75 lbs... Make sense?

IMO, DO NOT USE PLAY SAND!!!! Get pool filter sand, it's slightly bigger and won't get sucked into the filter. It's also pre-rinsed and only takes a few minutes to clean the rest off in a 5 gallon bucket.
